"Of Triton" by Anna Banks (Of Poseidon Book #2)

"In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?"

Of Triton picks up right where Of Poseidon left off. With Grom "wed" to the fraud, and Nalia back in the picture I have to say the book was exciting & action packed, however if somebody were to ask me whether this book was better than the first, I would have to say no - most of the humor that I'd come to love disappeared as the book progressed, though I love the fishy jargon Toraf and Galen occasionally blurt. HOLY CRAWFISH, I JUST HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS RIGHT NOW!

As sweet as it is that two lost lovers, who both thought the other was dead, are reunited - Emma is having mixed emotions about it all. Did her mother really love her father? Or was he just a substitute for the love she'd lost so long ago?

We really delve into the depths of Syrena with the two kingdoms practically at war with each other, for fishy political reasons. With the whole kingdom in chaos from the reappearance of Nalia, we barely get any long lasting romance on Galen and Emma's half, but I do understand that the author has to make this book more dense in the "development" department, since it is the second book in the trilogy.

But the ending! OH MY WORD, it left me in complete shock! Not to mention horror! Whaaaaat?! MAN I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THAT!

FOUR STARS!

I can't wait for Of Neptune to come out & completely sweep me off my feet!
